Open Question: Has anyone tried the Fapturbo (Forex Autopilot Pro Turbo) investing software?

I was thinking about purchasing it but I am very hesitant and skeptical. There are so many scams and fraudulent money making "opportunities" out there that no one knows who to trust. Just like every other money making "opportunity" they make it sound really easy and appealing. But as our mothers always used to tell us, "If it seems to good to be true then it probably is". They gift the software as a plug and play platform (i.e., just install the software and watch the money roll in), but when I read the reviews I hear a lot of talk about strategies and tweaking the software which seems to indicate that there is a very steep learning curve to it. I have been burned too many times with money making scams and I am just gun shy. Can someone please shed some light on this issue and let me know if it is really as simple as they are marketing it to be? Thanks in advance.

Open Question: How much to charge for a banner on my website.?

Hi, I have a forex web site that has been up since Dec 12th December was a bit slow with 151 Unique Visitors, 575 Visits, 2734 Pages, 4851 Hits. January 1st to 3rd has 78 Unique Visitors, 185 hits, 868 Pages, and 1,420 Hits. The other day I receive an email from one the major forex brokers asking this: I am interested in advertising on your site. Please let me know how much it would cost to place a banner (perhaps 160*600 or something similar in the left margin of the page)? How many page views and unique visitors does the site receive monthly? I am completely new at this and don't even know where to start in terms of price. To someone who is familiar with this and/or has done this before how much would you charge? What different options are there ie. flat fee, pay per impression, click or a combination possibly incentives for how much they deposit in their account. Any feed back would be great. Mike

Resolved Question: Advanced question about Forex market?

Hi, Im wondering whether the cross pair currency rates are determined by speculative traders or arbitrage trading computers. For example you have two liquid pairs: EUR/USD USD/CAD and a cross rate EUR/CAD I figure, since most of the speculative trading is done on EUR/USD and USD/CAD, the EUR/CAD exchange rate is made by arbitrage traders adjusting the correct cross rate so there is no cross currency arbitrage. That means there are a lot less speculative trades on the EUR/CAD pair than on the EUR/USD for example, percentage wise that is, right? Given that, trading on the cross rate is alot harder, since the market psychology is made up of less traders and more arb, right?

In FOREX we use 1/10000= 1 basis point; whereas in economic parlance of Indian economy one interprets 100basis points=1% (of interest rate), ie,a reduction of 150 basis points in repo-rate equals 1.5% clip in interest rate terms. Is there equivalence or a mismatch in usage?

Resolved Question: Why did I feel a panic attack?

I hated today so much. Here's some background...I'm in my 30's by the way. I want to open up a brokerage account so I can do some forex trading. The brokerage is in Europe. In order to open up an account, I have to send them an application which includes a copy of my driver's license and a copy of a utility bill. This is completely normal to open up an account! Even in the states they ask of this. Once they accept my application, I will need to fund my account, again, so what, completely normal. I've even called up the brokerage firm and spoke to people there, so they exist and they are a known company. So here's the thing... I filled out the application forms and have everything ready to send. I prepared this ONE MONTH AGO. Today I head to the post office and reassured myself with a resounding YES that this is a good thing for me since I want to do this and make some money / wouldn't care to lose money either. I go to the post office and give them the package to send. My heart starts beating quick, I say to myself, "there's nothing wrong here, you did nothing wrong," so I go home and say, "screw it" and go back to the post office and ask for them to not send the application and I receive a refund. My panic attack is over! But I still lose! BUT I DO WANT TO SEND THIS IN! Can someone PLEASE tell me how to deal with this silly anxiety/panic attack so I can do something I know I would like doing! I felt as if sending that application would mean, ID theft, secrecy from people I know (basically like I'm the only one who knows about this.) Would telling someone else help me out? I fear that telling someone else would just be a negative since they might discourage me and then i do nothing. Thank you every. I did my homework with the brokerage, they're legit. and there's others who also are participating and people I can call. But even after every that I still couldn't go through with it :(

Resolved Question: Why are there no standardized forex options?

Hi, Its difficult to find a broker that offers forex options. The one I know is Saxobank. When I tried the demo account, it lets you pick the exact strike price (5 pip increments) and the expiry date, day by day. They are way to customized and the pip spread is always 15 pips on most of them. This tells me one thing, saxo bank is trading against their clients, so its in their interest to manipuate the spread and win when client loses. Why are there no standardized options for forex like they have with stock options (expiry month, fixed strikes) they would be SO MUCH more liquid than those phony currency futures options. Or correct me if Im wrong, do they exist?

Resolved Question: Help with Excel (advanced)?

I am building a spreadsheet to backtest Forex trading strategies. I want to be able to find the difference between the circled values. I am asking b/c I need to do this hundreds or maybe thousands of times. I can find the difference between the sums of each of the two columns easily, but I want to be able to do this also. Thanks

Resolved Question: Why do people get so irate about a hypothetical North American Union?

It seems that everyone discussing this issue spends every of their time fuming about enhanced cooperation between our friendly neighbors to the north and south. Rarely are the costs and benefits ever discussed in a rational manner. A NAU would enable: - Lower costs of living, as the red tape associated with cross-border trade would be eliminated. - The elimination of unproductive forex transactions for intra-continental trade. - A stronger, less volatile currency, benefiting every 3 countries. - Enhanced international clout and bargaining power, thereby advancing North American interests more effectively. - An additional layer of separation of political power, and a renew impetus for competence in government. - More secure borders, as it's vastly easier to defend the borders of North America as a whole than of the individual countries within North America. ...Among many other benefits. Now, I understand the anxiety surrounding what may appear to be national integration, but let's be honest - North America is more politically, ideologically, and ethnically homogeneous than probably any other continent. Removing the arbitrary borders, would you honestly be able to tell where Texas stops and Mexico ends? Or where Washington state stops and British Columbia begins? What's more, while any sort of rework to the current political structures means that we must be vigilant of our freedoms and civil liberties, what evidence is there to suggest that a NAU would be any more or less liberal (as regards liberty, not "progressive" or "Democrat") than the power structures such as they currently exist? I think that the citizenry of a government not founded on nationalism would be much more vigilant, and thus we'd be freer; history has shown repeatedly that people are much more willing to endure oppression at the hands of their "countrymen" than by "foreigners." So then, still mad? Is it not time to have a real debate about such a Union, rather than the shrill conspiracy-mongering that currently dominates the discussion of this issue? thamsenman!: Presumably, such a union would entail freedom of movement within the continent; thus "illegals" (i.e., Mexicans) would no longer be such. Additionally, and as I said, it's much easier to secure the borders of North America as a whole than of the individual states; thus, illegal immigration would be sharply reduced. thor_torkinson: I didn't "pick this up" anywhere, I wrote it myself. As to living standards, we already have free movement of capital within North America, which means that a Union would do nothing to lower wages; quite to the contrary, integration of regulatory and labor standards would likely lift wages by disallowing corporations from externalizing their costs by moving to Mexico, where such standards are presently lower than in the US and Canada. In short, it would merely improve the efficiency of the system such as it currently exists, raising living standards for every in absolute terms. It's every gain, no pain. gamefreak: - I don't agree that the size of the government corresponds to the degree of corruption in any meaningful way. Governments in sub-Saharan Africa are a tiny fraction of the size of those in western liberal democracies, but they are vastly more corrupt. - I would presume that a written constitution would be a part of any such agreement. What it contained would be up to the people as expressed through the democratic process. - The next logical step would absolutely be a world government, to which many of the same issues and benefits are applicable. In addition to being necessary to deal with global issues, I think such a government is inevitable. Economic integration inexorably leads to political integration. Do you honestly think that in 100 years' time or more, when humanity is colonizing the solar system, we'll still have the nation-state model of political organization? Highly doubtful. - Citing "national sovereignty" as an objection is circular. Brad: - Here's the thing - the NAU doesn't exist at gift. There is the SPP, but that's merely a diplomatic framework, certainly not a government. - Anarcho-capitalism, in addition to being completely impractical (How are you going to deal with global climate change? Would private citizens be allowed to possess nuclear arsenals, and if not, who would cease them?, etc.), sounds to me to be the worst possible form of totalitarianism. Not that it will ever happen; laissez-faire always leads to fascism, not anarchy, as business interests always seek to use their economic power to leverage political power if left unchecked by government and/or organized labor. - I agree that the majority should not receive to vote on the rights of the minority, though I would disagree with you as far as property ownership being an inalienable right.
